Coffee at the work place.
To all of those people that leave that little tad of coffee in the pot just so you don’t have to go through the major (I am being catty here) effort of making a new pot. Maybe you don’t know how it is done so let me tell you.
- First you grab the basket and remove it – it even has a handle on it for convenience.
- Then you dispose of the grounds in the garbage – the sink or the floors are not options.
- Then you insert a filter into the basket (for your convenience these are normally located near the coffee pot)
- Then you grab a bag of coffee (brown is regular, green or orange is decaf) and open it and put in the basket on top of the filter. Yes you do have to open it first.
- Then you either walk all the way to the sink (you know where that is – the place you leave your cup and dishes waiting for the dirty dishes fairy to clean them) and fill the carafe and pour it in the top of the coffee maker or just hit the button that says brew.
- Now here comes the hard part put the carafe under the basket that way the coffee actually goes in the carafe not on the floor. (this may sound stupid but you don’t know how many people I have seen put the water in and still have the carafe in their hand – and wonder why the coffee is spilling all over the place)
- Wait till the water stops’ coming through the basket and the coffee is done and pour yourself a cup. You might also want to pour one for your fellow co-workers who are laughing themselves silly while you are holding a copy of this in your hand and making this look like a really difficult task.
If you are insulted by my instructions listed above and say “Well any one with any intelligence can make a pot of coffee”. I just wonder are you really insulted or just giving the reason you have not done it before.
If you are one of those people that always makes a pot of coffee when they drink the last cup, I hold up my mug and say” Thank you very much.”
